These terms govern your use of the PolyWise website at getpolywise.com and the PolyWise iOS app (together, the “service”). PolyWise is based in North Carolina, United States. By using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.

The service
PolyWise notifies small business owners about local political and regulatory developments, including tax, licensing, labor, and zoning topics, based on a location and industry you choose. Summaries are written for owners and are meant to help you notice changes earlier.
PolyWise is not a law firm, accounting firm, or compliance advisor. Alerts are informational only. They are not legal, tax, financial, or professional advice, and they are not a substitute for reading the official source or talking with a qualified advisor. We do not guarantee that an alert is complete, error-free, or delivered before a deadline.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the service. The service is intended for business owners and operators, not for children.
Accounts
If you create an account, you are responsible for the accuracy of the location, industry, and contact details you provide, and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@getpolywise.com if you believe your account is being misused.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service in violation of law
- Scrape, resell, or republish alerts or site content in bulk without our written permission
- Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or attempt to access another person’s account
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when you contact us
Intellectual property
The service, including the PolyWise name, logo, site design, and alert summaries we write, is owned by PolyWise or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your own business. Official laws, ordinances, and government records remain the property of their respective publishers.
App Store
If you download PolyWise from the Apple App Store, you also agree to Apple’s licensed application terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of this section and may enforce it. These terms are between you and PolyWise, not Apple.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, PolyWise disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranty that alerts will be timely, accurate, or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by North Carolina law, PolyWise and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising out of your use of the service or reliance on an alert. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold PolyWise harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the service or your violation of these terms, to the extent permitted by law.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these terms, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law — will survive.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will post the updated terms on this page and change the effective date. If you keep using the service after the update, you agree to the revised terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and PolyWise agree that the state and federal courts located in North Carolina are the exclusive venue for disputes arising out of these terms or the service, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court that has jurisdiction. You and PolyWise waive any right to a jury trial to the extent permitted by law.
